I believe, as an artist, it is healthy to just "create" on your canvas what moves you now and then (or all the time), rather than always be creating intense paintings. As a professional artist for 22+ years, I find it takes a different level of focus for different paintings. Large scale commissions take much more focus from within myself than do small oil or pastel paintings created in the moment. Paintings that are meant for show, exhibition, or competition, take a different level of focus for me as well. Which brings me to the point of this post ... Waiting patiently [...]
